Job Posting: Colorguard & Winterguard Director

Pleasant Grove High School, a 4A campus located in Texarkana, Texas, is seeking an enthusiastic, talented, and dedicated Colorguard/Winterguard Director to join our rapidly growing band program. This role plays a vital part in the continued success and excellence of our visual ensembles.

About Our Program:

• Consistent UIL Sweepstakes Band Program
• 2024 UIL State Marching Band Championship Qualifier
• Winterguard teams have medaled at NTCA Regional A Championships for the past three consecutive years
• Rapidly growing student participation and strong community support
• Two Winterguard teams in the spring

Position Details:

• Responsible for all aspects of the Colorguard and Winterguard programs
• Expected to attend all rehearsals, football games, and competitions in the fall
• Lead and coordinate two Winterguard teams during the spring semester
• Collaborate with the Band Directors on show design, choreography, and instruction
• Manage equipment and uniforms, and assist with student recruitment and retention
• Ensure a positive and inclusive environment that fosters student growth and achievement

Salary:

• Can be combined with a full-time teaching position elsewhere in the district, depending on certification and availability, or as a stand alone, part-time position
• Stipend is negotiable based on experience and qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in directing or assisting with colorguard/winterguard programs
• Strong choreography and equipment technique background (flag, rifle, sabre)
• Experience with NTCA or similar competitive circuits
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents
