JOB DESCRIPTION Computer Technician This position will provide a Computer Technician for Pleasant Grove Independent School District. This employee must: 1)have a High School Diploma; 2)have general computer skills as required; and 3)be recommended by the employing Superintendent. The computer technician shall have knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the following nature: ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; to communicate and work with students, teachers, school administrators and the public; to maintain records; to maintain effective working relationships with other auxiliary personnel, teachers, school administrators, and the public; and have a positive and cooperative attitude toward the duties of the aide, the school, the staff, and the students. Computer Technician is presently employed in the above described position. Pay scale and classification will not be less than the minimum compensation plan for Pleasant Grove Independent School District. Computer Technician will be under the supervision of the Director of Technology nd the Superintendent of Schools.BASIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The employee shall: 1)perform on-site technical work to install and maintain computer and network equipment and software applications throughout the district.2)respond to work order request as assigned by Director of Technology by diagnosing and repairing computer hardware and software issues.3)have knowledge of and/or experience in the following areas:•Knowledge of Chrome OS and imaging•Knowledge of Google Admin Console•Experience with Chromebook repair, screen, keyboard and trackpad replacement•Windows 11 Pro installation and updates•Laptop screen, keyboard, trackpad, hard drive replacement•Basic understanding of LAN and WAN networks•Asset management and inventory•Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other technical documents as required•Serve as liaison to software and hardware vendors to maintain appropriate product support•Consult with end users to identify needs, analyze system specifications and correct related issues 4) participate in staff development as assigned. 5) respect the confidence of instructional personnel and the administration. 6) perform other tasks as assigned.
